Thank you for your interest in becoming a VITA volunteer. Volunteers are the core of this program and produce millions in tax returns annually for taxpayers in our own community.

You soon will receive information on training classes and the locations of this year's EITC sites.

VITA tax preparer volunteers must become IRS certified before they can prepare a tax return. Certification is offered through a choice of three training opportunities begining in November:

A series of six free classes

Online classes

Refresher course for experienced preparers or returning volunteers

Training is free and volunteers are requested to serve a minimum of 25 hours approximately Feburary 1 and ending by April 15.
